Who is the caregiver?
A caregiver is the professional figure who takes care of elderly or disabled people at their home. She is normally employed in a variety of personal care activities: from personal hygiene, to feeding meals, through proper nutrition, as well as caring for the environment in which the caregiver lives.
The figure of the caregiver is very important, as it makes it possible to provide the necessary assistance to those who cannot take care of themselves, but wish to continue living in their own home, maintaining a certain degree of autonomy. It is important to note that the caregiver cannot carry out activities involving the administration of medication or take care of specific medical treatment, for which the assistance of a doctor or nurse is required.
The Carers Course has a duration of 24 hours, during which lecturers will help trainees to better manage the daily activities that characterize caring for dependent persons. Practical exercises are also given ample space in this module.
All those who attend at least 80% of the classes will be entitled to receive a Certificate of Attendance. At the end of the course, a Certificate of Attendance with Profit will also be issued for those who pass the final exam, valid for inclusion in the Register of Caregivers of the Adiura agency of Taranto and the SADI Medical Service association, which they will draw on in case requests for family assistance are received from families and users.
