The Basic Caregiver (AdB) is a professional figure who works in the social welfare field, may practice his profession both independently and as an employee, at residential services (RSA) for frail or non-self-sufficient elderly or disabled persons, at residential socio-educational services for minors, and at home. His or her activity is aimed at maintaining and/or recovering the mental and physical well-being of frail individuals characterized by partial or total loss of autonomy, assisting them in the various activities of daily living and helping them in the performance of their essential personal functions. It also deals with the care and management of the living environment (home, inpatient room) and accompanies the person outside to access territorial services and resources in order to reduce the risks of isolation and marginalization. Its activity is carried out on a day or residential cycle: its work plan is defined by the figures of the Multiprofessional Team (Nurse, Physiotherapist, Animator) and is aimed at the realization of the objectives of the personalized plan drawn up in the facility. In home services, it adopts the work plan defined by its Manager based on the objectives contained in the user's Personalized Care Plan defined by the competent Socio-Health Services, promoting the participation of the caregiver (family member or caregiver) and/or other voluntary resources in the area.
