Presentation

The Tailor (Fashion Designer) is a figure found within tailoring workshops and even in garment industries, within which he or she may be in charge of the entire production process as well as only certain stages of processing.
The tailor is capable of conducting all operations related to the production of made-to-measure or short series garments starting from the selection of fabrics and creation of the pattern based on the design to be interpreted to the cutting and making of the garment.
The figure of the tailor finds employment in small and medium-sized garment companies or, above all, in artisan workshops in the sector possibly working in the direct employ of fashion designers, stylist or pattern maker.
Outside the craft enterprise, he may work in a context in which he is required to graphically represent and construct, translating the designer's lines, the model of the collection garment or prototype, participating in the identification of construction components and related technological solutions for reproduction.
The entire universe revolving around the Fashion sector represents a fundamental resource for the national and international economy in terms of the exchange of goods and employment. Significant, in fact, are the volumes of business and labor employed in the design of garments and accessories, which is the reason why numerous and diverse professional skills are estimated to contribute.
